Deutsche Bank to Launch Bitcoin and Ethereum Custody Within Weeks - TradingView

Deutsche Bank has signalled it will launch custody services for bitcoin and ether within weeks, according to TradingView. The move would place one of Europe's largest lenders among a small group of global banks offering regulated storage for digital assets.
Custody is the less visible side of crypto market infrastructure, but it matters. Institutional investors such as pension funds and asset managers often cannot hold tokens directly for regulatory and operational reasons, so a bank-grade custodian can act as the gateway that lets them gain exposure. A major lender entering this space may also lend credibility to digital assets as an asset class, even as prices remain volatile.
What to watch: whether the service is limited to Germany or extended across Deutsche Bank's international footprint, which client segments it targets, and how regulators supervise it. Rival banks' custody plans and any resulting shifts in institutional demand are also worth monitoring. The launch itself does not guarantee inflows, but it does expand the regulated plumbing through which institutional money could eventually move.
