Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-11-04 22:02 UTC.

Good morning. The US session closed with a broad relief rally — the Dow's best day in 18 months — as Democrats swept Congress, while oil slid on the rewritten Iran playbook and Bitcoin touched a six-week low.

Asia's calendar is light and low-tier: JPY Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes and a 10-year bond auction, AUD Goods Trade Balance and RBA Deputy Governor Hauser speaking, plus German Factory Orders and French Industrial Production for EUR.

On the gauges, EUR/USD reads neutral at 1.12275 — D1 down, H4 up, H1 down — sitting right at the nearest level above (1.12301, 0.1 ATR), with 1.2 ATR down to support at 1.12062. GBP/USD is bullish clear at 1.34699 — D1 up, H4 up, H1 mixed — H4 RSI 70.0, no level above and support 4.1 ATR below, so stretched. USD/JPY is neutral at 158.41800, boxed between 158.29061 and 158.54541. Gold is neutral at 4059.37, closer to resistance 0.5 ATR above than support 2.2 ATR below. Oil is bearish leaning at 88.57, H4 RSI 20.0, near the bottom of its range. Bitcoin is neutral at 80196.3, near the top of its range; ethereum neutral at 2413.9, between two close levels. Watch the yen on the minutes and auction, and whether sterling's stretch meets anything.
