Majority partners with zerohash on stablecoin remittances - The Paypers
Majority, a mobile banking platform serving migrant communities, has partnered with digital asset infrastructure provider zerohash to offer stablecoin-based remittance services, according to The Paypers. The arrangement connects Majority's customer-facing app with zerohash's backend rails, allowing cross-border transfers to be settled using stablecoins rather than traditional correspondent banking channels.
The development is notable because remittances are a high-volume, fee-sensitive market where settlement speed and cost matter greatly to senders. Stablecoins pegged to major currencies can in principle move value across borders faster and at lower cost than legacy wires, though the actual customer experience depends on conversion, compliance, and local payout networks. Pairing a consumer brand with an established infrastructure provider is a common way for fintechs to enter the space without building custody or settlement systems in-house.
What to watch: how transparently fees and exchange rates are disclosed, which corridors and payout partners are supported, and whether regulators in sending and receiving markets treat the service as a standard money transfer. Adoption will also hinge on whether customers perceive stablecoin rails as reliable and familiar, rather than merely cheaper on paper.
